A little help with your gift
How to make an anniversary website
Choose meaningful photos, build a relationship timeline, and write an anniversary letter. Follow this practical guide to creating and sharing your website gift.
By OurForeverPage · Examples are fictional; make the details your own.
1. Choose the chapter you want to celebrate
An anniversary website is a personal page of photos, messages, and milestones that you share with your partner. Before choosing a design, decide what story it should tell: your first year together, the year you moved in, or a handful of moments from your whole relationship.
A clear theme helps you choose what to include. For a first anniversary, you might begin with your first conversation and end with a tradition you have started. For a later anniversary, focus on how the last year felt rather than repeating your entire history.
A theme to try: Our first year of Sunday walks, kitchen experiments, and choosing each other.
2. Collect a few photos and the stories behind them
Start with three to six photos you have permission to share. Include a milestone, an ordinary moment, and something that makes you both smile. A blurry picture with a good story can be more meaningful than a perfect photo with nothing to say about it.
Write a caption for each photo before you upload it. Explain a detail the picture cannot show: what you were laughing about, how the day began, or why you keep returning to that memory. Leave out anything your partner would not want shared.
We missed the sunset, found a tiny café instead, and stayed until they stacked the chairs around us.
3. Build a short relationship timeline
Choose a few turning points: your first date, a trip, a first home, or a small tradition. Put them in order and add one sentence about why each mattered. Check dates where you know them; use honest labels such as “Our first summer” when you do not remember the exact day.
Keep the timeline selective. Three thoughtful entries can tell a clear story without making your partner scroll through every event. If you add a relationship timer, use the starting date you both associate with being together.
- Our first hello — what you remember most.
- A moment we became a team — what you learned together.
- This year — a tradition you want to keep.
4. Write a letter about this year and the next
Begin with a memory, name something you appreciate, and finish with a hope for the year ahead. Specific details keep the letter in your own voice. Read it aloud once and simplify any sentence you would never say to your partner.
You do not need a long speech. A short paragraph about an ordinary day can make the page feel personal. Use the example below as a structure, then replace the details with your own.
Happy anniversary. My favorite part of this year was our slow Sunday mornings, especially the ones when breakfast turned into a whole afternoon together. Thank you for listening when I needed it and celebrating the small wins with me. Next year, I hope we finally take that train trip we keep planning.
5. Create your page and preview the whole gift
In OurForeverPage, choose the anniversary-story starter, pick your colors, and replace the sample words with your own. Add your photos, timeline, and letter. You can change the starter choices and preview the result before paying.
Review names, captions, dates, and the order of the sections. Check the page on your phone as well as the device you expect your partner to use. If a section repeats something you have already said, shorten it or remove it.
